Alternatives to crude oil, GDP and climate change
How growth is destroying the world
Politics and economics will not secure our survival on Earth – regardless of party lines or economic ideologies, they place economic growth over a good life. Food and oil prices are climbing, the climate is running riot: nature has reached its limits. But economic policy makers hold fast to their belief that without growth we will be facing a crisis. This is true, however, we have been there for a long time now.
In this book, however, the authors develop well-supported alternatives.
Andreas Exner is an ecologist and publicist. He is involved in social movements and has already published two books in this field, "Losarbeiten - Arbeitslos?" (Unemployed - Start working?) (2006) und "Grundeinkommen" (Basic Income) (2007).
Christian Lauk is a biologist and PhD student in Social Ecology at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research and Continuing Education at the University of Klagenfurt.
Konstantin Kulterer is an economist and environmental technologist. He works in the fields of the environment and energy.
